It sounds as if there is a blockage in the salt matrix / inlet. This can happen if the wrong type of salt is used. The simple answer is to use the expensive tablets/pods - that include salt.

This will improve the wash and hopefully the blockage will free eventually. Fill the salt container with water regularly to try and help dissolve it - no salt untill it's clear.
